Description

Another simple shot I took in my home town during a walk by the beach with my girlfriend.

This was shot in RAW with a compact Canon PowerShot A640 and post-processed in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

This is a revised version of my last work which didn't have a title, but now it does. I decided to post a revised version mostly because of the dust spot someone spotted and I can't believe how I missed it. The other thing "fixed" was the midtone contrast as someone suggested and I believe it looks a little better now. Note that if the problem was only on the dust spot I would have updated the current artwork but as I made a few other changes, I decided to create a new artwork.

I know this picture is far from being superb photography but I kinda like the final result I have achieved so I decided to publish it to the public. Please bear in mind that the washed color feeling you might have was intentional.

I want to thanks Elite cupcake for noticing the dust spot and the title suggestion which I decided to take and GFXartist sponsor everseen for the midtone contrast suggestion.

All critics and comments are welcome.

P.S.: The old artwork will be removed in due time, I will not maintain both. It would be nice to have comments and votes from the members that commented/voted before with the changes you might think are appropriate for this revised version. This description will also be edited when the old artwork is removed.

Great shot! Nice composition. I like the strip of the clouds at the background. Beautiful

Colors look a bit faded. Possible could this be better in bw.
The sky is lacking that punch imo.

Composition as such looks fine! Like the lighthouse!

Can't see much difference to the previous one.
Don't either see a reason to post it separately.

If you overlap the two, you'll notice that this one has a bit more of contrast and of course, the dust spot removed. I just decided like that and, like I said, I'll remove the old one in it's due time...

I don't see much of a difference either, but it is significantly different when you overlap the two. My main crit for the last one (this as well) was just the composition. That's the update I'm waiting for. ;)

+9 (added one point to the score of the last one for effort. :) )

Loooks better....the composition is fine to me....I would work even more on the sky, maybe in a separate layer.

That will probably take a while, before I have time to get to that place again and take a few new shots. And I always prefer to do new/different shots learning from the mistakes of past photos. Unless the photo is all wrong, which it seems to not be the case with this one judging by your comments :)

That would enter in my definition of photo manipulation and I prefer no to do it. Besides, the sky looks more real like this cause if you were there, you would barely see the clouds as in the shot.

But all take all your suggestions into account for my future shots :)

I agree with Carlos, the composition s fine to me. As you said, the faded washed colour feeling was intentional, they look a bit better now, but I'm not sure if it works better than the normal colour version since I didn't see it!
Not sure this is enough to have a new post, still, Nice work.
